I loved my deluxe king room with view across a sandy stretch of the Todd River, with all the gorgeous red river gums... and also overlooking the walking track on the east side of the river. I specifically asked for an upstairs room at the right hand end of the “Rivergum” wing so as to have the lovely outlook and be away from the noise of the busy road - eg rooms 329, 330, 331, 332. I had 329 which also had a tree near by which attracted birds and provided a bit more privacy while on the balcony. Nicely furnished spacious room with a small fridge and a bathtub and separate shower. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast (included in my room rate) and thought it was comprehensive: the usual continental stuff plus fresh fruit, hot food like grilled tomatoes, hash browns, choice of eggs including hard boiled etc. I’d been on a 6 day trek so the self service clothes washing and drying facility was very handy. I liked the expansiveness of the layout of the property, a lot of outdoor space. All staff were lovely, helpful, and will hold bags for you for a number of days. Mercure is also nice and close to town centre - across the riverbed and a couple of blocks and you’re there... and also a short (10 min if that) to the lovely Olive Pink Botanical Garden with its terrific cafe.

Great location just a few minutes to town and onto the Todd River walking trail to Telegraph Station. Restaurant is very convenient although a bit pricy with no quick or cheap options. Breakfast buffet was delicious and if included in package makes good value for money. The guest laundry is well equipped, quick and spacious and is nice and clean. The room was large and well equipped and had a nice range of amenities. Daily servicing of the room was exceptional and those staff very friendly and helpful. Reception staff also were exceptionally helpful and friendly even ordering a taxi for us and calling to ensure it was on its way. Being able to store bags while we were away was also very helpful. Thank you!

We had a two night stay in the midst of a long road trip and The Mercure was a great spot for a rest. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet. From a practical point of view, there is a fantastic laundry for quick cheap and effective washing and drying. The wifi was good too. From an R&R aspect, the pool, sun beds and surrounding (shaded) tables outside the restaurant were a lovely spot to spend a lazy day. The BLT we got poolside was delicious and the Barracuda curry and prawn Penang curry we had in the restaurant were some of the best we have ever had. The staff at every turn were fastidious and really friendly.

We had a very unexpected extended stay at AS Mercure as my husband developed Covid three days before we were due to leave. The staff were fabulous. They found me another room across the lawn from my husband and assured us that they would be able to deliver meals etc to my husband. I had to leave as I couldn't get a later flight. So thank you to all the wonderful staff particularly Andres, Zed, Mary, Hunter, and a couple of other great people whose names I can't remember. Everyone was so kind - a really stressful situation averted with the help of lovely people.

Mercure is a really nice hotel with all it's rooms set in small blocks in the gardens and around the pool and main reception. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very smiley, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very nice and the food really good. I did think it would be nearer to the town (15 minute walk) than it was but taxis are plentiful and cheap. Highly recommended.
